Park or Shelter Rentals
Reservations
Looking for a beautiful spot to host a gathering? Picnic shelters in Howard Amon, Leslie Groves, Wye, Columbia Point Marina, Badger Mountain and Jefferson parks are available to rent for birthday parties, company picnics, family get-togethers, etc. Don’t take a chance; reserve the shelter of your choice.
Please call (509) 942-7529 to check shelter availability prior to coming in to make a reservation. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis with payment and signature requirement. For this reason, telephone reservations are not accepted.
Park Shelter Rates
The following are the 2024 shelter rates per hour (with a four-hour minimum):
Reservations with fewer than 50 people:
Resident: $15.50 per hour
Non-Resident: $23.75 per hour
Commercial: $28.50 per hour
Non-Profit: $9.25 per hour
Reservations with 50 or more people:
Resident: $23.25 per hour
Non-Resident: $35.25 per hour
Commercial: $42.50 per hour
Non-Profit: $13.50 per hour
What is a Special Event?
The City of Richland considers a special event to be any of the following:
"Special event" means any organized assemblage of 30 or more persons at any public park which is to gather for a common purpose under the direction and control of a responsible person or agency; or any organized formation, parade, procession, or assembly consisting of persons, animals, vehicles, or any combination thereof, traveling in unison and with a common purpose upon any street, highway, alley, sidewalk, or public way which does not comply with normal and usual traffic regulations or controls; or any other organized activity or set of activities conducted by an individual, group, or entity for a common or collective use or benefit and which involves the use of public facilities and the possible or necessary provision of city services ancillary thereto. Depending on the nature, size, and/or complexity of your event, a Private Special Event Agreement may be required. To plan your special event, please contact the Richland Parks & Recreation office at the Richland Community Center to check for availability of locations and further information to aid you in your planning.

Policies
The City reserves the right to limit or restrict event reservations in the parks based on appropriate size for the facility, availability of parking, noise restrictions and conflict with adopted park use regulations or adjoining activities.
Reservations must be made in person during business hours:
Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Sunday Noon – 4:00 p.m.
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
