Richland Bicycle and Walking Trails
Richland has an abundance of recreation trails for our residents and visitors to enjoy. We can't wait for you to experience them!
Most importantly: Please obey the trail speed limit.
Trail Speed Limit
Richland has a speed limit ordinance for bicycles on populated areas of the river-shore trail. Please reduce your speed according to the information below:
- 8 MPH when others are present, in congested areas, and where sight lines may impede the ability to see others.
- 15 MPH when alone on the trail in non-congested areas with clear sight lines.
Trail Etiquette:
- Stay to the right side of the trail, unless passing on the left.
- If passing on the left, indicate your intentions by ringing your bike bell and/or stating loudly, "on your left" to others.
- Keep dogs on a leash and at heal while using the trails.
- Keep watch of young children and teach trail etiquette.
- Dispose of garbage and pet waste in designated recepticals.
- Pedestrians, please do not block the entire path.
- Obey signage and remember to SLOW DOWN when others are present.
23-Mile Sacajawea Heritage Trail
Richland's 7-mile Riverfront Trail (part of the 23-mile Sacajawea Heritage Trail) follows the beautiful Columbia River. The Trail is a scenic river trek along the Columbia River through the Tri-Cities of Richland, Kennewick and
3.25 Mile Urban Greenbelt Trail
Stroll along the Urban Greenbelt Trail, a 3.25 trail that encircles the city. It is an easy, flat trail, but has no water fountains along with way.
