Little Badger Mountain Trail Master Plan

Little Badger Mountain Trail

The City of Richland invited citizen feedback to develop a long-range plan for the proposed Little Badger Mountain Trail. The estimated 5.5 mile trail will connect Little Badger Mountain to the existing Badger Mountain trail and will have cross slopes that range from 5% to 30% grade with three (3) overlook points. This is the first large-scale trail development project the City has initiated in quite some time. City staff worked with the team at Michael Terrell Landscape Architecture, LLC to develop the proposed trail layout.

Three (3) pubic meetings were held in January of 2023 to gather feedback from public in addition to an online survey which was open for responses from December 2022 through January 2023.   A draft plan was approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission in March 2023 and approved by City Council on April 4, 2023 per Resolution 2023-47.

Project Update - June 2023

The Park Master Plan has been approved and an upcoming feasibility study will be completed for the complex steep section of the trail. The findings from that study will impact the trails construction schedule due to the complexity and cost of anticipated trail construction.
